We just returned from a Tri-State 900 plus mile Road Trip. Our first stop: the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show, now held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our trip included a visit to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum and the Gilmore Car Museum. We continued our journey traveling to Flint, Michigan and attended the Sloan Auto Fair and to see the Sloan Museum's Buick Gallery

The Gilmore Car Museum has been on my Bucket List for the past 5-6 years. I'm not getting any younger, or so I am told, so a trip was planned. The Gilmore Car Museum is just as advertised, "America's Signature Collection".  The Collection in located in Hickory Corners, Michigan. There are more than 400 Vintage Vehicles displayed in 7 independent Museums located on a 90 acre Campus. The Collection of Cars date from the birth of the Automobile to present day. Individual Marque Museums are housed in their own unique buildings and are sponsored by affiliated Automobile Clubs and Organizations such as the the Cadillac-LaSalle Club, the Classic Car Club of America, the Pierce Arrow Society, four different Lincoln, Continental and Zephyr owner Clubs, the Model A Ford Foundation and the Franklin Collection

Along with the Showrooms and the many Red Barns there is an authentic re-creation of a 1930's Shell Service Station with (advertised) 18 Cents a Gallon Gasoline.  George & Sally's Blue Moon Diner is totally restored and serves thousands of visitors each year. Being that I am an Old School Cadillac Man and I was traveling with the same our 1st stop was to check out the Beautifully Recreated Cadillac Dealership and Showroom located on William Durant Drive. It was patterned after a General Motors 1948 Cadillac Dealership Design. The showroom was built in 2014 and it houses the Cadillac - LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center

This Cadillac Wreath and Crest adorned the Cadillac Clark Ave Manufacturing Plant for more than 70 years before being taken down in 1995 in order to raze the building. The Clark Ave Plant was built in 1919-1920

I didn't "Hear"  -  OOPS!  I mean "Did not See" Cadillac's Infamous Aluminum HT4100 V8 displayed amongst Cadillac's Finest engines... I Wonder why not

Wow, I had to keep pinching myself to make sure this was all Real... Across the street from the Caddy Dealership was a (re-created) Lincoln Showroom. I have owned many more Cadillac's than Lincolns but there are certain models that fight for garage space at home

After taking a Selfie with Abe, sorry... I mean Mr. President, I began telling him that my Favorite Continentals were the original 1940 and 1941 models, the 1956 and '57 Mark II's and the 1968 - 1971 Mark III's. I told him that I had a nice '70 Mark III, he seem to listen, but I don't think he really cared. Just between me and you I don't think he is really much of a Car Guy. How did he ever get a Car Company named after him...

"Border to Border"- Remember when Lincoln won the 1954 La Carrera PanaAmericana.  I don't, but they did Win it. They actually dominated it. In 1954 they had a 1st and 2nd place Sweep in Lincoln Capri Coupes
