Sold! Sold! Sold! Dana Mecum's Collector Car Auction Rolled into Louisville, Kentucky this past September. Close to a 1000 Cars were consigned to Cross the Auction Block. This was the inaugural event for Louisville. From speaking with the some of the Mecum Staff the word is that the promoters were impressed with the Kentucky State Fairgrounds facility and that they would most likely be returning. I was glad to hear that, since the event is close to Home for me
Fast Cars are Generally the Main Entrée at Mecum Auctions. This again was true in Louisville. There was no shortage of Shelby themed Cars, Mustangs and Fast Fords along with a Nice selection of Classic Ford Motor Company offerings from the 50's and 60's
Like so many Mecum events there was plenty of Lighted and Porcelain Signs being offered to the Highest Bidder. Friends of ours ran their 1965 VW Bus through with an early number on Thursday and it was Hammered Sold! They say the More Windows a Volkswagen Bus has, the More Money they Bring, I believe it. The Sharp little Green & White Beetle with Fender Shirts and Dual Luggage Racks ran through but I never heard what it brought
