Saturday Morning the much anticipated Reunion in Eckhart Park takes place, starting at 7:00 am. I have not heard the official number of registered cars but as always there were plenty to view. My first photo walk led me to the L29 Cords. Many familiar faces (cars) returned again this year. One particular new entry was the Gorgeous Green with a Darker Green beltline Cabriolet. From listening to the proud owner, who's name I did not get, responding to the Many Questions I learned that the car was a fresh restoration. This L29 drew an appreciative crowd throughout the day

As in years past the number of 1936 and 1937 Cord 810 / 812 cars dominate the show. That is fine with me, I love Cords too. Phaeton's, Convertible's, Westchester and Beverly Sedans are all represented on the show field

I was totally surprised to see the Tom Mix "Cowboy" Cord at this years Reunion. I have read about it and seen many photo's of it,  but seeing it up close and personal was great. Mr. Mix obviously had his Cord Customized to his taste and notoriety. Non-Original cars usually are not all that popular at Classic Car events but it seems that Celebrity owned cars are the exception

Mix was Hollywoods Hottest Action Hero at that time. He was known for his portrayal of Cowboys, the Good Guys, the ones that wear the white hats. Tom Mix died Oct. 12, 1940 while driving his Yellow Cord Phaeton at such a high rate of speed that he did not notice a sign warning that a bridge was out. The Mix Cord remained in it's "Crashed" condition until it was purchased at auction in 2010. The Tom Mix Cord is now in the hands of ACD Club member Bob White. Beautiful Car Bob, thanks for sharing it with us

The Duesenberg's always draw a large gathering of admirers and enthusiasts and understandably so. I had to photograph these Big Guys early before the crowd made it's way to them. E.L. Cord wanted to build the Worlds Finest automobile. History has shown that he more than achieved his goal with the Duesenberg. Like they say... "It is a Duesy"
