This Coral Blue 1947 Packard Custom Super 8 sedan was one of two identical Packards purchased by Al Capone before his death. This Packard and it's twin were ordered with every possible option... less the Thompson Machine Guns. Capone often purchased identical cars to help conceal his whereabouts and activities from the Feds. He was one of Packards most notorious repeat customers. After his death the car was purchased by his chauffer and body guard, Herman David, alias "Motorcycle Mike", alias "Bootleg Mike". He kept the car until 1980. When he sold the Packard it is was still of mostly original condition

Seeing this Beautiful 66,000 mile 1937 Packard 120 took me back about 40 years. My 1st car, believe it or not, was a  Packard, a 1937 120 Sedan like the one above.  Mine was Maroon with its original Grey wool interior. It was not in Concours condition but it was pretty sweet for a 16 year old kid. I bought it with my hard earned "Paper Boy" money for what seemed like a small fortune to me. I paid $1650 for it in 1973. I did not keep it very long, I mistakenly thought that driving a 36 year old car as my daily driver was not a good idea. Obviously I was wrong. Flash Forward to 2012, excluding the wife's car, the newest car in my garage is 37 years old and still aging.     "Ask the Kid Who Owned One"...
