The number 4 Car is owned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Ford Motor Company gifted the GT40 MK II to the Museum in 1968. It sat unused and somewhat ignored until 2006 when it was decided to perform a Full (4 1/2 year) Restoration on the car to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Ford GT40 Racing Program. The no. 4 Car (Chassis 1302) ran the 1966 Le Mans Race but it was not part of the historical 1st - 2nd - 3rd place finish. It would later more than make up for it by Winning Le Mans 3 times! 1967, 1968 and again in 1969

As a side note, 50 years later, Ford recently, as in this past week,  made Le Mans history again with their 2016 Ford GT. The Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Team beat the Class Competition with a win in the Le Mans GTE Pro Class. 2nd place was garnered by Ferrari. 3rd and 4th places went to Team Ganassi again in Ford GT's. Le Mans is still considered one of the most Grueling of the Endurance Races. The Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Team will return to Le Mans in 2017 to defend their title.

The Concours event paid tribute to the Bavarian Motor Works as it Celebrates 100 years of the company that brought you "The Ultimate Driving Machine".  In March 1916 Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) was formed by the merger of two German aircraft engine manufacturers. By 1919 the armistice race of WWI was winding down so the company shifted it's focus to building motorcycles and automobiles and have been doing a good job of it for the past Century
The 1939 BMW 327 Cabriolet is a Classic and this example was a nice one. It was being presented by Tom and Barbara Chandker BMW's 2000 Z8 paid Homage the the Classic 1957 507 shown below. The Z8 has a nice Retro Look to it and it still commands some pretty Big Dollars. The Z8 is part of the EAG Collection while the 507 belongs to Rick Grant - Dayton Ohio
