1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

I hope that you like looking at the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO as much as I do... if not Too Bad, that is one of the Perks of editing your own website. In a Perfect World, I would own a Ferrari GTO like the one shown here. It would of course be sharing space with my 1957 Testarossa (again in a Perfect World). The Ferrari 250 GTO's were produced from 1962 - 1964. The Series I cars, like this one, were produced in 1962 and 1963. Three Series II cars were built in 1964. The GTO name, in Italian stands for "Gran Turismo Omologato", which in English means "Gran Touring Homologated", (Homologation is a requirement that a specified minimum number of cars have to be produced and sold to the public before that car can be Factory Raced). In this case only 39 250 GTO's were produced (36 Series Cars and the 3 Series II cars). The 250 GTO sold for $18,000 in the United States when new "in 1962". Today they sell in the Multiple Millions. The most expensive car ever sold (to date) was a 1962 250 GTO. It was hammered "Sold" last year for $35,000,000.00 (that's a lot of zero's). The 35 Million Dollar Car was originally built for the Legendary Stirling Moss. Ten years ago this same GTO sold for $3.5 Million.... that's a Nice Return on your Investment, Perfect World or not
