Photo's from the Collection
Imperial Palace
Auto Collections
The
Auto Collections is a must see while in Las Vegas. You do not have
to have Octane Boost running through your veins to enjoy this
collection of World Class Automobiles. The Exhibit is ever changing
since
most,
if not all of the cars displayed are offered for sale. You can
expect to view 200 - 250 cars in a 125,00 sq.ft
showroom. The Collection - Museum is located on the 5th floor of the
Imperial Palace. The Imperial Palace is on the east side of the
strip, between the Flamingo and Harrahs. Admission is very
reasonable, under $10 per person. You can almost always count on
someone with the Collection to be passing out Free admission tickets
in front of the hotel. Free admission tickets are also available
from
the Auto Collections website. The Grande Salon section of the
Showroom is where the Elite Cars from around the World are
displayed. Look for Famed Marques such as Packard, Rolls Royce,
Duesenberg, Auburn, Cord, Pierce Arrow, Maybach, Mercedes, Bugatti,
Delahaye, Ferrari, Cadillac and Lincoln. Also offered for sale are
Sports Cars, Celebrity Owned Cars and Muscle Cars. The
displayed automobiles rotate between this Collection and the
Blackhawk Collection in Danville, California.
Imagine after a Big Win in the Casino driving one or more of these
fine cars home. On an average one or more cars are sold each day out
of this Collection. I would have liked to have been part of one of
the "Sold" statistics during my stay in Vegas.
Not far from the Auto Collections is the Carroll Shelby Museum. It
is located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Tours are conducted
daily. Thirty Five years of Shelby built cars and memorabilia are
displayed in the museum. The tour includes a trip through the
100,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facilities where New Shelby Cars are
being built. I last visited the Museum 4 years ago. I was not overly
impressed with the Museum at that time, but I enjoyed the build
facilities. For all that Shelby has accomplished I expected a little
more from the Museum. The Shelby Cafe has been added since I was
there and I am sure that the Museum has grown too. If your
are a Shelby enthusiast it is worth seeing.
If you are ever near Danville, California, I highly recommend
visiting the Blackhawk Collection, the sister collection of the
Imperial Palace Auto Collection. I have been there and thoroughly
enjoyed it. It is a total Class Act and is of Smithsonian Museum
status.
Keep Fueling your Passions!
