After Saturday's Show we headed east to Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan to tour Edsel and Eleanor Fords home. We arrived just in time to catch the last tour of the day. I have been through Edsels home before, but it had been almost 10 years ago. The home is of an English Cotswold style and design. Construction began in 1926 and was completed three years later at a cost of Three Million Dollars. The 30,000 sq ft Mansion has 60 rooms, of which 20 are available on the tour. Edsels Garage is also accessible with two of his personal cars inside... if you guessed Lincoln you are correct. Edsel was responsible for creating the original Continental and the Continental Division of Lincoln. Continentals were originally intended to be custom built, high end, low production cars. With this new division Edsel Ford wanted "to Make the Best Car in the World"
