 A friend of mine, Erick Faust (pictured with his wife Debbie), was in charge of the selection committee for "American Automobiles Post War 1946-1964". After looking over the cars competing in that class I would say that Erick did a nice job by finding such exceptional cars. He certainly did not make it easy for the judging Team

Sports Cars were again quite prevalent at this years show, with Corvette getting a little more notoriety this year since it is celebrating 60 years as America's Sports Car. The '57 Corvette sporting the VV Cooke Chevrolet license plate brought back some memories. During the 1960's and into the early 70's VV Cooke was Louisville's Performance Chevrolet Dealer, probably selling more Corvettes and Muscle Cars than the other local Chevy Dealers combined. VV Cooke did more than just sell Performance, they also Promoted it by Successfully Campaigning  Corvettes in SCCA sanctioned events throughout the country

In the late seventies I had a brief stint working at VV's Dealership doing "Flunky Work" in the Service Department. Other than the new Corvettes in the showroom there were not too many Cool Chevy's being built anymore. Mr. Cooke did display some of his Collection of Older Corvettes at the Dealership. He also was the sponsor of our Corvette Club. At the time I had a '66 Corvette Coupe that was in need of some restoration work and it was my Daily Driver. It shared garage space with a '71 Corvette that I actually still own 35 years later
