Dana Mecum's 26th Annual Indianapolis Spring Classic saw over 2000 cars roll past the Auctioneers  over a 6 day period, starting on Tuesday and running through Sunday. Mecum is known for Muscle Cars and the majority of those offered for sale were just that. The quality and selection of the cars is definitely Top Shelf.  I have experienced the January Scottsdale Sales and they are Very Impressive, but Dana Mecum's Indianapolis Sale is right there with the Best of the Best. You should mark your calendar for Mecum's 2014 Indy Sale.

Shelby American Cars, Originals and Tribute Cars are always plentiful at Mecum Auctions. Drawing a lot of attention was the actual "Eleanor Mustang" driven by Nicholas Cage from the remake of the "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie.  "Eleanor"  sold for a cool One Million Dollars. At that price I hope that the glass display case it was parked in was included

The Bill Mitchell Designed, 1963 - 1965 Buick Riviera is one of my favorite cars. I have owned a few of them and someday hope to find one more to keep. This '65 Riviera Gran Sport was absolutely Beautiful. It drew a crowd of admirers all day. I do not know if it sold, but I am sure if it did, it brought a Boat Load of Money. The Riviera Owners Association (ROA) will be holding their National Convention next month, June 24th - 27th in Lexington, Kentucky. The Car Show is Thursday the 27th and the public is welcome. Lexington is only about 90 miles from me, maybe... just maybe, I might find that keeper

Corvettes and Astronauts were synonymous back in the 1960's and 70's. This particular '67 Corvette was originally owned by Astronaut Gus Grissom. As you can see from the photo's Gus Grissom's Vette was ordered with "All the Right Stuff"
