MECUM AUCTIONS
Indy 2025

Indianapolis, Indiana - May 2025

Cadillac was well represented at this years event. I have been a Cadillac Guy since my 1st one in 1974. It was a "Thirsty - Very Thirsty" 1969 Eldorado. The 1973 1974 Gas Crisis brought Prices Down on these Gas Guzzling Beauty's... Down to a price point that a 17 year old Kid like myself could "Almost" afford one. The mid-1950's Cadillac designs were the inspirations behind the El Morocco. This is only the 2nd one that I have ever seen. The El Morocco was based on the 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet Convertibles and Hardtops. This one being a 1957. The first El Morocco was offered in 1956. They Sold New for $3650-. According to an article from Motor Trend only 34 were produced. This one was Hammered Sold at $220,000-

The "Megafly" is a Customized 1974 Cadillac Eldorado.  It was produced by Coachbuilder Wisco Corporation as part of their El Clasico Collection. I do not know if it sold, but it was Clean and showed 50,000 miles

Another Old Car Fetish of mine is the 1963-1965 Buick Riviera. This era of the Riviera was designed by, in my opinion, One of the Automotive Worlds Best Designers - "Bill Mitchell". Bill Mitchell was responsible for Creating some of, if not most of General Motors Best
