MECUM AUCTIONS Indy 2026 Indianapolis, Indiana - May 2026
Dana Mecum's Indianapolis Auction ran from May 8th-16th with a promoted offering of almost 3000 Cars. The Car selling for the Highest Bid was a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB (short Wheel base) California Spyder. It was Hammered Sold for $16.5 Million before the 10% Buyers Fee. Not Ferraris... but, True Classics are the 2 Auburn Speedsters below
Note the "Absence" of External Exhaust Pipes on this Auburn 851 Speedster, that is because it was Special Ordered "Not Super-Charged". This is believed to be the Only known example of a 1935 Speedster Delivered without a SuperCharger. Auction estimate was still $700,000 to $800,000
This Beautiful Black '35 851 Speedster was Super-Charged and it had the Pipes, the Name Plate and the SuperCharger as you would expect. Auction estimate "Again" was $700,000 to $800,000. This Auburn received a High Bid of $625,000-  "The BID Goes On"
