The Petersen Automotive Museum was a long time dream of the late Robert E. Petersen. That Dream was realized when the Museum opened to the public in 1994. The $40 Million Museum is one of the largest of it's kind in the world. The museum houses approximately 300 cars with 150 usually displayed in the many Galleries and another 150 or so cars stored down stairs in the "Vault". Just recently the Vault has opened for guided tours. We opted for the Vault Tour and really enjoyed it. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide. "Sorry No Camera's Allowed" in the Vault

The Petersen Automotive Museum has recreated the most authentic settings that I have found in any automobile museum. The attention to detail is unbelievable, They look like movies sets, but then again the Museum is in Hollywood

Do you like that Customized Cadillac and the Dutch Darrin Kaiser... I do. Both are parked at a Drive-In Restaurant probably awaiting the Girl on Skates to Roll by and take their order. It will be a while before their buddies Merc, shown below, with the Chopped Top can join them

This recreated  2 Car Garage from the 1960's was Really Neat. Complete with the Roof Top Basket Ball Goal and loads of all of the Neat Stuff that I grew up with stacked in those wall shelves. Check out Mom's Wagon and Dad's Triumph TR Sports Car
