The 1956 and 1957 Continental Mark II was elegantly understated as described by "The Henry Ford" website. Its appeal depended not on Chrome and Fins, but rather Flawless Quality Control and Testing. It was the Most Expensive American Car you could buy in 1956, priced at $10,000-

Inspired by Harley Earl's 1954 Motorama Park Avenue,  the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham went into production in 1957. They were very limited production automobiles with only 400 being produced in 1957 and 304 in 1958. These New "Standard of the World" offerings from Cadillac had No Options. They were equipped with Everything. You only had to select from one of the 45 interior color choices that were offered. They were equipped with Air Ride suspension at all 4 corners and were powered by 365 Cu.In. V8's packing  Dual 4 BBL Carburetors. The 4 Door Pillar Less Roofs were covered in Brushed Stainless Steel. These Fabulous Cars took the Honor of being America's Most Expensive Car at $13,000-. Even at $13K it is Rumored that Cadillac Lost $10,000 on everyone Sold, but it was supposedly worth the extra Showroom Traffic at the Dealerships. The Eldorado Brougham was one of Harley Earl's final designs with Cadillac and General Motors

"Yes She is Definitely a Winner"

Due to the continued growth of Personal Luxury Car Market throughout the 60's and the Success of Cadillac's New 1967 Eldorado, the Continental Mark III was introduced in 1968. The Mark III's were produced from 1968 - 1971 under the guidance of Lee Iacocca with Henry Ford's "Reluctant" Blessings. Iacocoa pitched the New Continental Mark III to Henry Ford II as the American Rolls Royce
