I could not get any information about car or how the fire started other than the car was built and titled in California in 1984. From looking at the photo's I believe it was a California Custom Coach built Auburn 876 Speedster.  The car seems to be built around a Chevrolet small block and chassis. The car was listed on ebay in January of 2010. The opening bid was $100. The seller was located in Florida. Had the car been closer, I would have liked to bid on it for parts. The seller was kind enough to allow me to use these photo's. I have never lost a car to a fire although I have a friend who lost his Corvette and his garage due to a fuel leak under the hood. He received a few minor burns trying to get the fire under control, but it was too much. He survived, but not the Vette. Looking back at his photo's, yes he managed to document the burning, you can almost Smell the Smoke. I have a fire extinguisher mounted in each of my cars. Most Shows require them to be with the cars that are being displayed. I think they are a must have On-Board item.   January 2010
